1. I know for an absolute fact that Tom would not want me to get a new cat.
2. I know that Tom likes cats anyway.
3. I texted Tom to mention that I wanted to get a new cat.
4. Tom did not answer, thus squandering his chance to voice any opposition to a new cat.
5. Should I go get a new cat?

Did you get one yet?
No. Tom wants a Siamese. He's picky that way. Has to be the most precise type, pure bred, blah blah blah. I'd like a tortoise shell (remember Doorknob?) but I can't go into shelters because I'd take them all. lol
Aren't Siamese supposed to be very unfriendly? Who wants an unfriendly cat? I don't remember Doorknob, but I do love tortoise shell. My favorites are the orange and white kitties. To each their own apparently. We used to live near a shelter for cats. Broke my heart every time we walked by it. I love them except for the litter box part. Yuck! Why not wait until after the move? Cats have a hard time adjusting to new places.
Doorknob was Jamie and Charles's cat back when they first got married. I think they had him all through the Dixon and Rock Falls years and he died when they lived back on Lister Road.
The litter box doesn't bother me. You just scoop it into a bag and throw it away. The trick is having more than one litter box so you don't have to clean it every couple hours.
